Hi, Hi, Hiya!
If you get this reference, we're automatically friends.
I'm Tisa. Like Lisa with a T. I got my name when my mom heard someone scream "Tisa" at a water polo match, and when she met my dad, she asked, "If I ever have a daughter, can we name her that?"
And THAT is one of my favorite parts about writing... when the smallest things spark a detail to make a story more unique.
My senior year of college, at the University of Oregon (oh God, how was that 14 years ago), I had the idea for a love triangle romance. I sat on it for a decade, but on June 11, 2022, I woke up and knew it was the day.
I planned only to write one--on checking off that bucket list item I wrote in high school. But I fell in love. That one story spun into three others, completing the Finding Home series set (mostly) in Eugene, Oregon.
From there, I wrote a millennial-coded rom com set in Vancouver, WA, where I live now!
Next up is a mafia romance set in Las Vegas and Reno, Nevada... and it was recently that I realized I'm romanticizing all the places I've lived through romance novels.
I've lived in six states and traveled to 45, as well as 21 countries. I'm currently a beertender at a local food truck park and outside of writing, it's genuinely my favorite job. My husband and I are both in the beer industry in the Pacific Northwest and obsessed with how collaborative it is.
I have a degree in psychology, that I simultaneously don't use... yet use every single day. One of my favorite writing compliments I ever received was from my high school psychology teacher when he said, "I can't get over how well you delve into the human emotion. I can literally see the psych background you have in your writing. It's amazing."
I'm an enneagram 4... which means one of my favorite things is melancholy. Heartbreak music is my jam. I also love including my favorite lesser-known indie artists in my stories! I love deep convos and absolutely despise talking about the weather.
I'm currently training for a half-marathon. I was a swimmer growing up, so running doesn't come naturally to me, but I love how I feel doing it, and it's my way to fit in reading when I know I should be writing instead!
If you ever need anything or just want to chat about my books, I'm always here <3
